01

Test the display, cameras and haptics

Run touch patterns over the whole screen and inspect solid colors for dead pixels or burn-in. Test every camera, flash and focus mode, then try vibration patterns while listening for a loose motor.

02

Check sensors, GPS and performance

Enable motion and location access to test orientation, compass response and GPS accuracy. Run the browser performance check with background apps closed, then compare results only with similar devices and browser conditions.

03

Inspect battery, charging and ports

Use Settings or the manufacturer's device-care screen for battery information. Test USB-C charging, headphones or adapters where relevant, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data and the SIM tray.

04

Remove Google and manufacturer locks

The seller should remove their Google Account and any manufacturer account before the phone is reset. After the reset, confirm setup does not request the previous owner's credentials.
