Headphone Test – Left and Right Stereo Audio

Play short stereo tones through your connected headphones or earbuds and check each channel by listening. No microphone access or recording is required.

What this test checks

  • Left and right channel routing

How to use it

  1. Connect headphones and lower your device volume.
  2. Play the left and right channels separately, then both.
  3. If routing seems wrong, check mono-audio and balance settings. Stop if the sound is uncomfortable.

Check the device's mono-audio and balance settings and confirm the intended headphones are connected. This page sends left and right channels, but the operating system and audio device control the final output.

One side is quiet, missing or distorted

Repeat at a comfortable low volume, reseat a wired connector if applicable, and compare another familiar recording. If possible, try the headphones on another device to help separate a headphone problem from the phone's output. This is a listening check, not a calibrated loudness or hearing test.
